Transitions of the Heart: Stories of Love, Struggle and Acceptance by Mothers of Transgender and Gender Variant Children (Cleis Press)
This amazing collection by mothers of adults, youth, and children who are transgender and gender variant was recently published by Cleis Press. More than 30 mothers from the US, Canada and the UK shared their stories with me, some for the very first time, in this ground-breaking anthology. It was an incredible process to work with the mothers in the book, most of whom had never been published before, and many of whom were telling their stories for the very first time. I am extremely proud of this book and believe it will help change the hearts and minds of many people all over the world. My hope is that it leads to a better understanding and acceptance of transgender people and their families. Please see the “press” page for some reviews of this book. If you can’t find this book in your local bookstore, please ask them to order it. The book is also widely available online and in an audiobook! Signed copies are also available from the author. E-mail for more information on shopping and payment logistics.

The Transgender Child: A Handbook for Families and Professionals, co-written with Stephanie Brill (Cleis Press)
"This vital book fills a profound social need by giving parents of transgender children basic information about who those children may be. It will mitigate such parents' feelings of isolation, not only affording insight, but also paving the way for compassion."
—Andrew Solomon, Author of The Noonday Demon
The Transgender Child is now available in German and Icelandic!
And finally... the first book of its kind for LGBT college students. I was a co-author on this project.
The Gay and Lesbian Guide to College Life (Princeton Review Press)
"Thank you to the Princeton Review and to the authors of the Gay & Lesbian Guide to College Life. More resources are needed to help prospective college students to find the best campus and to be successful once they are on campus. As the Executive Director of Campus Pride, the leading national nonprofit organization for LGBT & ally student leaders, we recommend this book as an excellent companion toThe Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students and our national online LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index for colleges and universities (www.campusclimateindex.org). Definitely a resource you must-have!"
