Welcome to the new site of Rachel Pepper, who is known for her award-winning journalism for the LGBT press and her work on queer families. She just completed her third book, The Transgender Child: A Handbook for Families and Professionals (with collaborator Stephanie Brill ), which will be published in the spring by Cleis Press. Her groundbreaking book, Ultimate Guide to Pregnancy for Lesbians, the first pregnancy book for lesbians ever published, is in stores and available online, now in its second edition. Rachel is also the Book Editor of Curve Magazine and regular contributor of interviews and features. She is a judge for the annual Lambda Literary Awards and also judges the Senior Essay competition sponsored by the Queer Foundation.

Rachel lives with her daughter, Frances Ariel, in the New Haven area. Frances is a champion soccer player and has been learning violin and french horn. She is an avid collector of Webkinz and would happily spend all day online in their virtual world spinning the wheel of wow and growing virtual vegetables.

Some of the favorite activities of Rachel and her daughter include travel, including frequent trips to NY, mani/pedi sessions, reading, writing, swimming, and spending time with good friends. Rachel is a proud single momma and enjoys hearing from her readers, fans, and cute tranny boys interested in taking her out on the town.
