Welcome and thanks for visiting my website.
New for 2017
I write an ongoing series of articles on mothering for Mutha magazine. Here is a link to my latest article, which ask us to consider our identity as LGBT parents, when our children leave the nest.
Thank you for visiting the website for Rachel Pepper, a licensed therapist and author.
This site has information on therapy services and links to my books, including the 2013 IPPY Award winner Transitions of the Heart.
There's also contact information where you can reach me via e-mail and voice mail.
I am accepting referrals for my private practice here in Oakland. I work with adults and youth and have several specialties including sexual orientation and/or gender identity, pregnancy and parenting issues, relationship issues, family systems, and other phase of life issues. I off a sliding scale fee structure. Please see the page on Therapy Services or contact me directly for more information.
Me, on TV
A while back, I had the honor of appearing on Bay Sunday to speak about my work and promote Transitions of the Heart, an award winning book I edited. Here is a link if you are interested in watching it on YouTube: Watch Rachel on Bay Sunday!
And a timely interview in the NY Times, too
Check out this New York Times feature, a Women in the World column about new options for transgender children.
